- It’s coming….
Every year I dread the coming of winter. More so the past few years than ever before. This year has been lucky so far. We just got our first real snow last night and up until now, the weather hasn’t been too cold or too horrible.
My biggest problem with the coming of winter is the darkness that creeps in early and sucks out what little daylight I get to enjoy outside of work. Hunting in the winter usually involves trekking out to the yard or other places in the middle of the day on a Sunday hoping that it doesn’t snow and that the cold temperatures won’t freeze my fingers off. A sunny Sunday is a rarity but when they do occur, it’s guaranteed that I’ll make at least one trip out that day.
So as I brace myself for another winter and the lacing up of winter boots, I do have to be grateful for the extra hunting I did get in this year as we slip from autumn to winter. I will hopefully still be getting out this winter (owning winter boots for the first time since I was a kid should help), but it won’t be as much as usual.
I hope to keep things going on here throughout the winter by posting the all of the pictures that I’ve taken over the past year that never made it on the site. That’ll give me a bit of a lift during the dreary months as well.
The hammock and bicycles have been wintered in the basement and already I’m waiting for spring…
